Dream about losing a passport

Losing a passport means you are losing the way you are known to the world. This dream shows that the names and the papers that place you among others are slipping away, leaving you without the recognition that allows you to move from one station to another.

When people cannot find their place in the eyes of the community, they often feel they are walking a path that no one else can see. We see that this loss of standing can make the transitions in a life feel heavy and uncertain, as if the doors that were once open have become unyielding. There is a stillness in the way a person becomes a stranger to their own journey, child, even when they are standing in the same courtyard as their kin. Yet, this moment of being unknown often clears the way for a new way of belonging to those who see you for who you are rather than what you carry. May your true name find its way to the ears of your people.

A missing passport or a lost passport both carry the weight of a void where your recognition used to be. Because the thing itself is gone, the dream tells of a standing that has been vacated, leaving you to face a world that no longer holds a place for your current movement.

The search for a passport shows you are grasping for a way to be known again. It reveals a heart that is working hard to find the old ground that has already slipped away.
