Efua NyansaA roof is the cover that keeps the sky from falling on those you love. When you see a roof in a dream, you are looking at the strength of the head of the household and the safety of the people gathered beneath it.
This protection is what keeps the life of the home gathered and whole. If this shelter fails, the order of the household begins to fray, and the boundary between the world and the family is lost. A broken shelter means the spirit of the home is no longer a place where one can rest without looking upward. The weight of what is lost is felt by everyone in the house, and the grief of a failing protection can reach every corner of the room. May the walls of your life hold firm for you and those who walk beside you.
A dream of being stuck on a roof shows a loss of the freedom to move forward in your life. You have reached the highest point of your protection, but you find yourself unable to descend or proceed, which leaves you halted by the very thing that was meant to serve you.
The heat of a roof on fire signals a trial that threatens the peace of the home. Such a dream shows that the passions or the troubles within the family have grown too fierce for the shelter to contain, and this fire endangers the safety of all who live beneath it.
A new roof brings a fresh shield over the lives of your kin. It is the presence of a fresh layer of security that covers the lives of your kin, and may this new shelter hold you all in peace.
When a roof collapsing, a broken roof, or a roof blown off occurs, the very top of the home’s defense fails. The boundary that keeps the sky from the family is torn open, and the order that holds the household together is stripped away.
When you are building a roof, you are actively working to establish the safety of your people. This action shows that you are the one creating the shelter, and the strength of the household depends on the care you put into the making of its protection.
You find yourself climbing on a roof, rising toward the height of your responsibility. This movement shows you stepping up to the place of oversight, child, as you take your position to guard the lives of those around you.
A roof leaking means the things you have gathered are dripping away bit by bit. Because the protection is no longer whole, the things that should be held secure are gradually slipping away through the cracks.
To be jumping off a roof is to cast oneself away from the very protection that was meant to hold. This act shows a sudden break from the safety of the household, as you leave the shelter of your people behind.
Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
