Efua NyansaPetting a dog is an act of answering the devotion that others offer to you. When you reach out to touch a creature that seeks your presence, you are acknowledging a bond of fidelity that has already been established. You are feeling the weight of the hands that stay near you when the day is long.
We see that such a way of behaving brings a stillness to the household, as the recognition of these ties settles the spirit of the people you belong to. By meeting this devotion with your own hand, you find that the strength of your circle is reinforced through simple, shared presence. A person who meets this trust with kindness finds that the people around them are also found. This dream is a sign of the peace that comes when you acknowledge the hands that have reached for you, child. May your path be lined with the warmth of those who walk it at your side.
The black dog in your dream turns the meaning toward a more shadowed kind of loyalty. When the color is this dark, the dream warns that the devotion you are answering may come from a source that is not entirely known or safe.
Hugging a dog or petting many dogs shows a heart that is full of the need to cherish the ties that bind you. You seek to keep close the gentle faithfulness that your people offer, regardless of the size of the creature or the way you hold it. This constant reaching out strengthens the feeling of being held by your own people.
Sleeping with a dog shifts the focus to the protection you find in these loyalties. It is a dream of leaning on those who watch over you while you are at your most vulnerable, though an animal that cannot find peace suggests that this protection is currently shadowed by a need to remain alert to troubles in the house.
Being licked by a dog shows that the affection you receive is lively and clear. This dream marks a bond that refuses to stay silent, speaking instead through a spirited and certain recognition of who you are.

Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
