Efua NyansaHummingbirds bring news that moves faster than the breath in your lungs. This dream points to those moments of sudden, bright grace that arrive and depart before you can name them.
When we try to hold onto these swift spirits, we often find that the very act of grasping changes the nature of the joy we seek. Such a dream shows how life offers us flashes of beauty that are meant to be felt rather than owned. If you try to trap the light, you may find yourself losing the very thing that makes it shine. We see this in the way a child reaches for a butterfly only to find it still in the air, while the heart remains full of the sight. This dream tells us that the things which move through your life without staying are the ones that truly feed the soul. May your heart be wide enough to let the beauty pass through you without needing to keep it.
The way you interact with saving a hummingbird or catching a hummingbird shows how you treat the sudden gifts of your life. To try and seize these fleeting moments often results in the joy slipping through your fingers before it can be known. You find that the effort to control a passing joy only serves to drive the spirit away.
A blue hummingbird softens the quickness of the news with a calm stillness. This shade carries the coolness of a clear morning to the things you hear.
A hummingbird in a house brings the swiftness of the outside world into the center of your daily life. This dream means that small, bright changes are moving through your household, touching the very places where you rest and eat.
The sight of a dead hummingbird marks a heavy moment where a quick joy has been lost or a piece of news has failed to arrive. It is a sign that the lightness has gone, leaving a stillness that demands you look at what has been left behind.
Being attacked by a hummingbird changes the dream from a message of grace into a feeling of being struck by too many things at once. The very thing that should bring lightness instead strikes you, meaning the rapid shifts in your world are currently feeling like an onslaught you cannot shelter from.

Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
