Efua NyansaHermit crabs appear when you pull your spirit back into a place where no one can touch you. This dream shows a way of behaving that moves away from the warmth of the hearth and into a stance of prickly defense. When you meet the world with such sharp edges, you find that the people who belong to you must also tread carefully around your sudden withdrawals. We have seen that when a person stays behind their own walls, the conversations that bind a household begin to thin.
A habit of pulling away into a stony and lonely place is what this dream points to. You may find yourself choosing a stillness that is not for peace, but to keep others at a distance. This way of living makes the air between you and your kin grow cold and brittle. Such a hardening of the heart is a heavy thing to carry, for it turns a home into a place of many separate rooms. Even so, the way you hold yourself together offers a steadying presence to the ones who watch for your return. May you find the path that leads you back to the shared fire.

Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
