Dream about getting lost in a city

Getting lost in a city means you are straying from the paths that have long served your household and your trade. When the ways of the world become a tangle, we often lose the sight of the duties that bind us to our own.

The confusion you feel in this dream marks a time when the public affairs of your life have grown too vast for your current footing. You wander through the crowds without knowing which way leads home, and this can pull you from the common pulse of those you live beside. This wandering brings a heaviness, as the loss of a known direction makes it hard to see how you fit into the greater gathering. May you find the landmarks that lead you back to the strength of your kin.

The scale of a big or new city in your dream adds a weight of overwhelming presence to the confusion. Because the surroundings are so vast or so recently encountered, the sense of being adrift is sharpened by the sheer volume of the world pressing against you.

A foreign or strange city changes the dream by stripping away the comfort of the familiar. You feel the distance between yourself and your people more sharply in such a dream, child, for you are walking through a place where nothing looks like the home you have always known.
