Efua NyansaDrowning in a river means that a current of life or a person of influence has become too great for you to withstand. This dream shows a moment when the momentum of things outside your hands has taken over your own direction. When we lose our footing in such a way, we find that the path we once walked is no longer ours to command.
The strength of this dream lies in how the flow has overtaken your ability to stand. It is a sign that the forces moving through your household or your community are pressing upon you with a weight that leaves you breathless. You may feel as though the very ground of your life is shifting beneath you, child, and that you are no longer the one who steers. This is the heavy side of the dream, where the pull of the deep is felt as a loss of all self-governance. We see that when a person is caught in such a surge, the old ways of moving through the world are no longer enough to keep them safe. May the strength of those who stand on the banks reach you when the waters are high.
Being swept away in a river adds the sense that you have surrendered to a movement that was already in motion. This happens because the momentum of the world has moved faster than your ability to react, leaving you to follow a course that is not your own.

Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
