Efua NyansaCigarette smoke in a dream names the way a person seeks a small, passing warmth to hide what is actually being felt. This tendency to settle for a momentary ease often masks the things that need to be seen clearly between you and those you live with. When people wrap themselves in such things, they create a veil that keeps the truth from reaching the heart of the house.
You lose the way when you choose a soft shadow over the hard light of what is true. We have seen that those who live behind such clouds find themselves walking through a world they no longer truly know, losing the thread of their own stories. This way of being leaves a child standing in a room where no one can be found. The fog stays in the air, and it makes it hard to see the faces of your own kin. May the air clear for you and for all who sit at your table.
Smelling cigarette smoke in a dream brings the weight of the meaning closer to your own body, as the scent forces you to breathe in the very thing that hides the way forward. It makes the obscuring of what is true a physical presence that you cannot simply look away from.

Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
