Dream about choking on phlegm

Choking on phlegm marks a time when the things you have carried in silence have become too much for the throat to hold. This dream shows how the weight of what is unsaid or unpassed on can press against your very life.

When we hold back the truth or the grief that belongs to the house, we find ourselves struggling to draw air. The heaviness you feel is the accumulation of what should have been released long ago, and it sits between you and the ease of your own breath. This burden is not yours alone to carry, for it affects the way you stand among your kin, child, and the strength of your shared air. There is a danger that the weight remains if it is not met, for a heart that cannot breathe cannot lead. The clearing of this matter brings a lightness that reaches even those sitting by your fire. May your breath be deep and your voice be free.

Spitting phlegm shows the active turning away of the foulness that has occupied you. Because you are moving the matter out of your body, the dream shifts from a state of being trapped to a state of release.

Coughing up phlegm means you must work hard to find your air again. This struggle shows that the relief is earned through the very effort of pushing the heaviness out.
