Dream about a lock

A lock in your dream is a barrier that keeps what is private from the eyes of others. It is the way we guard the things that are not yet ready to be shared with the whole house.

When people hold onto these secrets too tightly, they build walls that keep even their own kin at a distance. We have seen how a person who refuses to let anyone in ends up sitting by a cold hearth with no one to speak to. The heavy side is that a closed gate can become a prison for the one who holds the key. You may find that your need for protection makes you a stranger to those you love, child. There is a strength in what you keep, and it preserves the peace of your household. May your doors always open to the warmth of a friendly face.

Seeing a broken lock in a dream means that a barrier has failed and what was hidden is now exposed. This happens when the strength of a secret is worn down by too much handling, leaving you to face what was meant to stay behind a door.

The act of opening a lock shows that a trust is being given to another. This movement in a dream reveals that you are ready to let a truth out into the light, which softens the edges of the house and brings the people closer together.

If you find a combination lock in your dream, it means a secret is being held under a heavy guard. This is a truth that does not come to you all at once, but comes only after you have learned the many ways it must be handled.
