Dream about a cockatoo

A cockatoo in a dream often speaks of the way words fly between people without purpose. When speech becomes a thing that merely occupies the air, it can fray the edges of the peace held within a household.

The elders tell us that when the tongue moves too quickly and without weight, it creates a restlessness that reaches even those who sit in silence. This idle talk pulls the focus away from the truth of what is lived and toward the noise of what is merely said. You find that the strength of your people is drained by voices that bring no nourishment to the table. There is a risk that the secrets of the hearth may become common property if the mouth does not know its own value. May the words you share bring a settling to the rooms you inhabit.

The black cockatoo in your dream brings a heavy darkness to the air. This color shows that the noise is a thing of malice, where voices are used to cut others down or to stir up trouble in the village.

A white cockatoo changes the weight of the dream by making the idle talk feel more hollow and superficial. It is the sound of many voices that say nothing of substance, a lightness that offers no foundation for the child to stand upon.
