Efua NyansaCatching a bird means you are grasping at a thought or a freedom that usually refuses to stay still. This dream shows a desire to tether what is fleeting to the ground of your daily life.
When we try to pin down the wind, we often find that our hands close around something that cannot be truly possessed. We see this in how a person tries to govern the spirits of those they love, only to find the connection thins when the grip tightens. You may find that by holding so tightly to a singular vision, you risk the very thing that makes it beautiful. A heavy silence settles when the things that should soar are brought down to walk the dust. May the birds find their way to your window and your hearth remain warm for all who gather there.
The color of the bird changes how the news arrives to you. Catching a white bird means the word you receive is as clear as the morning sky, but catching a black bird means the message arrives with a darkness that troubles the heart.
The scale and number of what you pursue change the reach of your ambition. Holding a bird or catching a big bird shows a focus on a singular, heavy importance that demands all your attention, whereas catching birds in a plural sense means your mind is scattered among many small, fluttering possibilities.
A dream of catching a bird in the house brings a restless idea directly into the center of your private life. It means the thing you are trying to capture is no longer a distant concept, but something that now lives among your kin and your daily bread, child.
Chasing a bird turns the dream into a pursuit that has not yet reached its end. This shows that you are still in the state of longing, running after a grace that remains just beyond your reach.

Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
