Kinship at the heart of dream readings

Dream about being stabbed in the throat

Efua NyansaTell your dream

Being stabbed in the throat marks a moment where the words you need to say are being forcibly taken from you. This dream shows how a struggle for your own truth can leave you unable to provide for yourself or those who depend on your voice. When the way we speak to our kin is cut short, the nourishment of honesty stops flowing through the house.

We have seen that when people attempt to silence a person, the whole gathering feels the hunger that follows. A silence that is forced upon you creates a gap in the circle where your counsel should have been. This dream carries the weight of a voice that has been blocked by a sudden and sharp cruelty. You may find that the things you hold in your heart cannot reach the ears of your people.

The strength of your lineage remains in the truth you carry, even when the path to speaking it is blocked. May your voice find its way back to the hearth and bring peace to all who listen.

Being shot in the throat in a dream brings a suddenness that a blade lacks, striking from a distance you did not watch. This means the silence is a blow from an unseen hand, making the wound even more unexpected.

Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
