Efua NyansaAn actress appears in a dream when the faces you show to your kin are not the ones you hold in your heart. This dream names a way of moving through the world by wearing a mask, a way of behaving that separates what is seen from what is true. When people in a household begin to trade their real selves for a performance, the bonds that hold the neighbors and the blood together start to fray because no one knows where the truth begins.
You might find that child is losing the ability to be known by those who love them most. We have seen that those who live behind a curtain of pretense eventually find themselves standing alone, even in a crowded room. The heavy side of this dream is the isolation that comes when the mask becomes too heavy to set down. The strength of your house remains when the truth is spoken plainly. May your words always find their way home to the hearts of your people.
A famous actress in a dream heightens the pretense by making the mask a matter of public sight. Because the performance is witnessed by many, the distance between your true self and the person others admire grows even wider.
Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
