Efua NyansaA dog losing a tail means that the thing which once helped you stand straight is no longer there to hold you. This dream shows that the way you kept your footing among your people is being taken from you. When a person lets go of what has served as their balance, they find themselves stumbling in the ways they used to walk with ease.
This shedding of support is a movement toward a new way of being, though the transition is often felt as a sudden instability. You may find that the old ways of keeping yourself upright in the eyes of your neighbors are falling away, leaving you to find a different footing. This loss of a tether means that the old ways of leaning on certain certainties are ending. We see that the old ways of holding yourself are being peeled away. It is a season where what once kept you from tipping over is being removed, child, so that you must learn to walk without that old weight. May you find a new strength in your own feet as the old ways fall away.
A cat losing a tail brings a sharper edge to the meaning, as it points to a deceitful companion or a false comfort being removed. This loss reveals that a cunning influence which once seemed to follow you is actually being stripped of its power to mislead.
When you see a dog’s tail falling off, it tells of a season where the old ways of being are gently cast aside. This happens because the part departs without violence, showing that the things you once relied upon are departing of their own accord.

Efua NyansaInterpreter interprets your dreams
Sit down first, child. The dream is not going anywhere. The elders used to say that a person is never read alone. Whoever stood beside you in the dream matters as much as what you saw, and the path behind you matters as much as the one ahead. Look, a dream with your people in it has already done half its work. May the name you were given keep you well.
